Mini newshounds grill England coach

PET rabbits, fish and chips and a fear of snakes were all admissions made by England rugby league coach Steve McNamara this week.

He was being grilled by pupils from Christ Church CE Primary School in Padgate on Tuesday who were given exclusive access to him ahead of the Rugby League World Cup which kicks off in October.

Thirty five children from the school got the chance to quiz him before England kick the tournament off against Australia on Saturday, October 26.

Mrs Ryan, from the school, said: ?The children loved putting Steve McNamara through his paces and asked him those all important questions adults often don?t think to ask.

?He was great with the kids and we?re all really looking forward to getting behind RLWC2013 when it starts in October.?

The day was organised by Birchwood-based online fashion retailer, GetTheLabel.com to announce its tie up as official tournament partner with the RLWC2013.

The mini newshounds were keen to find out about his favourite food, what his is scared of and whether he has any pets? Steve was a true sport and told them about his love for fish and chips, his fear of snakes and his house rabbit.

GetTheLabel.com managing director, Paul Simpson added: ?GetTheLabel.com is thrilled to be an official tournament partner of RLWC2013, the global sporting event of 2013.

?We are really proud to be associated with such a great sport, and we?re delighted to be able to share some of the excitement of the event with local children - we can?t wait for RLWC2013 to begin.?

l Meanwhile a special Songs of Praise will welcome members of the Samoan delegation to Warrington ahead of the Rugby League World Cup.

Taking place at 3pm on October 20 at The Halliwell Jones Stadium, entrance is free and there will be refreshments and stalls.
