Golf: Johnson boys hold edge in Border War Challenge

CHESTNUT MOUNTAIN -- The Johnson boys golf team got the better of things on Thursday in the second round of the Border War Challenge tournament at Royal Lakes Golf Club in Chestnut Mountain.

The Knights fired a team score of 173, led by a 37 over nine holes from Luke James, to better North Forsyth (184) and Lumpkin County (190).

Austin Booker fired a 40 to pace the Indians on the day.

The match was the second in a three-part series, which will conclude on March 19 at North Forsyth?s home course.

Johnson will enter the final round with a two-day score of 345, leading Lumpkin?s 362 and North Forsyth?s 370.
