Can I Get A Realtor To Change The Floorplan Of The New Home I ...

questions

Q: Hello, a new community is being built and im interested in purchasing in that location. They are currently having pre-construction sales. However, I looked at the floor plans from one of the builders other locations and I like them better than the six floor plan options listed for the location I?m interested in. Since it is all the same builder, just different location, would i be able to choose that other floor plan?

Thanks for any feedback you can provide!

A: Since I?m a Realtor in Washington my answer is based on my experience with new home builders here. Firstly, I would suggest finding an agent that can represent you?not the sales agent for the builder. They only represent the builder and do not have your best interest in mind. Then, have your agent ask and negotiate for you to have that floor plan in the neighborhood you?d like. Be aware that if the square footage is larger or smaller than the sizes of the homes in your desired neighborhood that might make a difference. But, start with a good agent and tell them what you?d like and have them negotiate for you. Good Luck Margaret Ferrell, Broker
