When I lived up in Arlington, I babysat a LOT. For a few summers in high school and college it was the only job I had because I had so many families that I would just bounce between. Well over the years some families fall off the radar, but some families stay with you. The Dowd family is definitely one of the latter. They are the sweetest family, and now that I don?t live up in Arlington any more I really do miss them!! That?s why I was so glad when Lael emailed me the week before I went home for my cousin?s baby shower/mom?s birthday! Lael asked if there was any chance at all I?d be in town that weekend, and I was so pleased that I actually was going to be! Lael?s parents were in town and so they were hoping to join in on the photo session! We met up Sunday afternoon on what I?m convinced was the hottest day of the summer and walked around a little wooded pathway by their house. I haven?t seen these guys since before the wedding, so when Lael told me she was pregnant due next month I was SO excited for them!! Of course I?m going to have to come back up for a visit once Baby Dowd has appeared on scene! 
One of the things I love most about family sessions is getting to watch the family interact. I really like to just give general directions and sit back and watch the relationships take form. Every family is so different and thus every family dynamic is so different and I love watching those little characteristics that make each family unique! It?s definitely more of a ?Lifestyle? approach to the session but I love it! I love capturing the goofy silly moments kids often have, and the parent?s reactions to those silly moments!
