true-blood-a7ae5f75da4ad062.jpegIf watching vampires drink people's blood on television wasn't already mouth-watering enough, soon you'll be able to cook recipes inspired by HBO's "True Blood" as well. How tasty. A cookbook due out Sept. 5 entitled "True Blood: Eats, Drinks, and Bites from Bon Temps" will give fans a chance to live out the show's edible endeavors in their own kitchens. Luckily for those of us not yet accustomed to the taste of blood, the cookbook won't actually contain directions involving any human parts or juices. Instead, the recipes will draw on the show's frequent uses of Louisiana's cajun cuisine and culture. Set in a fictional Louisiana town called Bon Temps, "True Blood"'s central storyline involves a waitress and a vampire. Local delicacies of the non-human variety are featured onscreen quite often.

Cajun chef Marcelle Bienvenu put together the cookbook's collection of recipes, including both food and drinks.?

Expect Louisiana culinary staples like gumbo and jambalaya, but presented in a whole new way. Recipes will be accompanied by photos from scenes in the series that correspond to that particular type of food.?

If you were looking for recipes involving anything more authentically vampire...then you probably have issues.
