A ?fire sparked explosions and destroyed a detached garage in the 8600 block of Stark Street in Riverside on?Sunday?afternoon, Sept. 29.
Riverside Fire Department Battalion Chief Bill Stamper said six units and 18 firefighters responded to a?2:26 p.m.?report of a fire and possible explosions in the garage.
?The explosions were caused by some small propane tanks,? Stamper?said.
Crews arrived to find the garage fully involved. Stamper said it took 10 minutes to gain control of the fire, which sparked some small spot fires in the yards of neighboring properties. It was out in 30 minutes.
No injuries were reported.
Fire officials did not provide an estimate of damage. Stamper said the incident is under investigation.
