Stop reading misleading articles. LOL We already have real W8 mobile devices(they are coming more and more -hybrid-tablet-ultabooks), and it's only a matter of time(and money-coming down prices) the ppl to upgrade to them and leave the toys to their infants. RT was mistake and to merge RT apps to the real W8 tablets is good move, and nothing to worry about there. .
See this iBS:
"While Microsoft currently dominates on the desktop, it has a long way to go to do the same in mobile" ROTFL . As PA don't know this way is already passed and they don't know about W8 PC-hybrids-tablets-ultrabools?????

Actually their lovely Apple have long way to go with making MAC OS-X really mobil.

Hi TROLL, long time ago!

I don't think they are failing, they just need a better marketing job.

Believe me ;-)

Almost 10% of world smartphone market share, not bad when you consider apple is shrinking, WP8 is growing.

Rebrand it Windows Mobile. By now the majority of consumers either don't remember or don't care about original WM, and it makes much more sense than "RT". Plus, it implies that it is in fact different than full-blown Windows, so the consumer confusion factor is eliminated.

there are many wiser than I am who said when Windows Phone 7.5 mango was the current Windows smart phone OS that Windows tablets should have been a Version of the Microsofts smart phone OS like the ipad's OS is related to Apple iphones OS. the reason I think it will take 2 years to make this so With Windows 8 NT Kernal is the current API's of Windows 8 smart phones and the Windows Rt tablet do not match up nor do the ARMS cpu's that a Windows Rt tablet uses and the Windows smart phones use. the first thing Microsoft has to to do is make their ARMS CPU tablet and their smart phones use the same Qualcom 800 ARMS CPU's no windows smart phone uses a Tegra 4 ARMS CPU like the Windows "Surface 2" Tablet uses. Folks that mens they have to sell off the current surface 2 tablets or add the new Nokia Tablet
and rename ot a "Surface 3" Tablet because it already uses's Qualcom 800 ARMS CPU"S the same ones used on Nokia high end smart phones. next get the API modified to be the nearly same for the tablet and the smart phone and Microsoft is on it;'s way to making them use the same apps

What if they pull a "WP7.8" again?

10. papss (Posts: 1910; Member since: 03 Sep 2012)

What if they dont? Troll much?

19. illusionmist (Posts: 47; Member since: 29 Jan 2013)

Then everyone's happy. And I won't get sh*t on for recommending WP to some of my friends who got screwed by MS right after, again.

NO! and if you cared more about getting informed instead of trolling you would know that.

WP7 devices are not compatible with WP8 because Microsoft changed the kernel and few other things to make it the same as WinRT and Win 8.
Merging both will just be a visual change

18. illusionmist (Posts: 47; Member since: 29 Jan 2013)

There are API differences and many other things. It won't be just "a visual change." But yeah now that they're both on NT kernel. It's less likely to break up the platform again... I hope.

Lmfao Wp7.8 fragmentation!

Hope they get the Wp9 in 2014, so Wp8 would Rip like Wp7.

Bring on Wp9?
